Back when I wrote about a new app called Spoken Translator that translates between English and Arabic over voice almost instantly, I got really excited. It seems that technology is coming increasingly close to the Babel Fish Universal Translator from The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy . OpenTable have a variety of partnerships including one with Poynt, as well as their own BlackBerry and smartphone apps. Today, they announced they have seated 2 million diners through their mobile apps . OpenTable estimates this has resulted in more than $100 million for its restaurant partners through mobile. This is definitely justification for more restaurants and services catering to the mobile market.  Read More →
