  My response to the video Comparing Boot Times on the BlackBerry Storm2 vs Storm 9530 vs Bold 9700 vs Bold 9000. This is a BlackBerry Storm 9530 on Verizon. It's running OS 5.0.0.328 (which you can see in the video). And you can see how many applications I've installed, too. It took 3 minutes and 25 seconds to start up. The one in the video I'm replying to took 2 minutes and 35 seconds to start up, but since it's just out of its box (and is on TELUS, though the carrier has almost nothing to do with the physical device), it has nothing to load.   Booting up a BlackBerry can be a frustrating experience. I think we can all agree that RIM should work harder to reduce the wait times for a battery pull. With OS 5, they have made improvements on the time it takes to boot, as well as they have provided a status bar so you know relatively how long it will be until your device is ready to go. In this test, we are comparing the following: Verizon BlackBerry Storm2 (OS 5.0.0.320 - out of the box) TELUS Storm 9530 (OS 5.0.0.328 - the latest leaked OS) T-Mobile Bold 9700 (OS 5.0.0.330 - out of the box) Rogers Bold 9000 (OS 5.0.0.411 - also the latest leaked OS) We thought the newer the OS, the faster it will boot. This turned out not to be the case.
